Onemorevote was a joint development with Jeremy Graham from Impakt Solutions
Onemorevote.com is a global social network of people that like to voice and solicit opinions on just about any topic. The site gives users a platform to raise and answer user-posted polling questions on basically any subject, no matter how controversial.
Due to the uniqueness of this site, we developed a completely customised website from the ground up, utilising the popular Zend framework, to enable all of the necessary web 2.0 functionality. The main focus behind Onemorevote is the site’s user connectivity and social network approach, giving it a greater sense of community and potential viral edge over its competitors. We knew this was a critical component to keep in mind when developing the site. Therefore, we built in functionality to link users to one another based on pre-determined friendships, common interests, etc.
On the technical side, we created an intelligence module dubbed the “Butler,†that automatically serves up the most relevant questions to the user, given an extensive range of variables. For example, a user from Spain would be more likely to be shown questions from Spanish users, or someone who has indicated an interest in politics would be more likely to see polling questions related to local or international elections.
Aesthetically, the site uses vibrant, clear images and videos to bring questions, specific topics and users themselves to life. The colour palette is pleasing, welcoming and appealing to the eye.
